Auntie “M”’s Healing Chicken Soup


  • Carcass of 1 Roasted Chicken (see Hubby’s Favorite Friday Night Chicken for Roasted Chicken Recipe)
  • 2 Cups Roughly Chopped Mixture of Turnips, Carrots, Celery
  • ½ Cup Brown Rice
  • Coarse Ground Celtic Sea Salt
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 8-12 Cups Water


  • Bring Carcass to a boil in large pasta pot – then simmer for several hours creating a delicious and nutrient dense chicken stock
  • Remove carcass, strain stock liquid and reserve for soup
  • Separate remaining chicken meat from bone and add to reserved soup stock
  • Place stock with chicken meat in a soup pot and bring to boil
  • Add roughly cut vegetable mixture
  • Add brown rice
  • Turn down soup to simmer and cover for one hour
  • Flavor with salt and pepper to taste
